Society of Tribal Welfare and Rural Education (SOFTWARE) is a non-profit organization working for the social and economic development of rural and tribal communities in Chhattisgarh ,registration number C.G. 2118 , registered under Chhattisgarh Society Registration Act 1973 based in Jagdalpur in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, has been actively working for many years towards the social and economic development of rural and tribal communities, particularly women. The organization is committed to empowering women through education, capacity building, counselling, and livelihood development initiatives. The society has been closely associated with the Women Cell of Jagdalpur in providing guidance, counselling, and legal aid support to women in need, helping them address social and legal challenges and promoting awareness about women’s rights. The society has started its work as a women entrepreneurship group and introduced the very first time pearl farming and silk yarn production centre in Bastar.

Over the years, the society has implemented several livelihood and skill development initiatives in collaboration with institutions such as National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). These initiatives focus on strengthening rural livelihoods through activities such as pearl farming, promotion of organic agriculture, silk producing and the development of sustainable income-generating opportunities for rural households. The organization also plays an important role in preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Bastar. It actively works with local artisans to promote traditional art forms of Bastar while encouraging innovation and the development of new artistic designs and products that can reach wider markets. Through its integrated approach combining social support, livelihood promotion, and cultural preservation, the society aims to create sustainable development opportunities for tribal communities and contribute to inclusive growth in the Bastar region. The organization has successfully implemented several development initiatives in partnership with NABARD, including Livelihood Enterprise Development Programmes (LEDPs), Gram Dukan initiatives, mushroom cultivation, pearl farming, silk value chain development, women livelihood programmes.

With the support of NBARD we participated in Grameen Mahotsav 2025 at Delhi and got First Prize for product development .
